3 Virginia Polo Ladies in the U.S. Open Women's Championship

February saw the fierce competition of the U.S. Open Women’s Championship tournament in Florida. Drawing the best women’s players in the country, the teams were all strong and poised to play hard in this prestigious tournament. We were proud to have two Virginia Polo alumni, Kylie Sheehan ‘13 and Maddie Grant ‘22, amongst the players as well as our current interscholastic team captain Hanan Fadil.

2013 graduate Kylie Sheehan, played for Mint Eco Car Wash with Malia Bryant, Cecelia Cochran, and Izzy Parsons and ended the tournament with a win Saturday February 17th at Port Mayaca Polo Club in the consolation game.

2022 graduate Maddie Grant played for Work to Ride/Grand Champions with Shariah Harris, Caitlin Cregg, and Nina Clarkin. The WTR/Grand Champions team made it to the semi finals, played Thursday February 15th at Port Mayaca Polo Club and ended the game with a final score of 7 to 10 favoring 90210.

Current Virginia Junior Team Captain Hanan Fadil played for La Fe with Hope Arellano, Naomi Marlough, and Hazel Jackson and also made it to the semi finals on Thursday February 15th at Port Mayaca with a final score of 9 to 10 favoring Buena Vibra.

We are so proud of all three of you for making it so far in this highly competitive tournament!
